Jewish Memories of Budapest

Let’s walk around in the VIIth District Jewish Quarter of Budapest. You will learn about the rich history of the Hungarian Jewish Community, its rise and fall during the WWII. We also show you the changes that took place in the district since the 1990s and how it has become the bohemian quarter of the city regaining slowly-slowly its old character as well. None of the historical and cultural details of the district will remain undiscovered: even will show you a little the contemporary artist and design scene if interested. During this tour we visit the two main historical synagogues: the Dohàny Street and the Kazinczy Street Ortodox Synagogue and we go and take a look on the Rumbach Street Synagogue from outside due to its ongoing renovation. We even take you down to the Shoes on the Danube Memorial near the Parliament. The tour includes a stop in a typical authentic Jewish café.
